Industrial Designs

Overview

An industrial design is the ornamental or aesthetic aspect of an article. The design may consist of three-dimensional features, such as the shape or surface of an article, or of two dimensional features, such as patterns, lines or colour.

Documents Required for Filing

Please prepare the following items to initiate fast-track application drafting:

• Full name, address, profession / business and nationality of the applicant(s) and author(s) of designer(s).
• Power of attorney (Form-31), duly signed by the applicant(s) and author(s) or designer(s) company seal / rubber stamp should be affixed under the signature of the signatory.
• Six representations of the Industrial Design / article. The representations may be in the form of drawings, photographs or specimens of the design / industrial model. The photographs should be of each view and of size 4 X 5.
• FOR CLAIMING PRIORITY
• (a) Application number, filing date in any of the member country of WTO.
• (b) A certified copy of the priority documents.
• (c) Priority documents are required to be filed either along with application or within three months from the filing date of priority application in Pakistan.
• (d) If priority documents are in a language other than English, a translation thereof in English language verified by statutory declaration or notarized should be annexed there to.
